Privacy
SEOLize is a demo. It works, but it comes as is, with no promises: use it at your own risk, and don’t give it anything you’d mind losing or having seen.
What a check stores
- The address you entered and your answer to “should this page show up in search?”
- Each response’s status and headers, without any cookies the site sent, and the address of the server that answered, which is never shown
- What we read from the page: the tags, links and other facts each finding cites, with short excerpts
- The page’s size and a fingerprint of it, so a recheck can tell whether it changed
We don’t keep the page itself.
Accounts, payments and email
Accounts are optional. An account stores your email, a bcrypt hash of your password, your credit history and the pages you watch. Signing in sets one cookie, for the session; without an account there are none.
Payments go through Stripe, which handles your card; we keep only the pack, the amount and Stripe’s reference for the payment. Emails (confirm links, password resets, watch alerts) go out through Resend.
Deleting your account removes your email, password, sessions and watches. Payments stay on record without your email. Reports you checked stay until they expire, like anyone else’s.
Who can see a report
Anyone who has the report’s link. There’s no account behind it: the link is the key. We store only a one-way hash of it, so we can’t recover a lost link.
Report pages tell search engines not to index them, tell browsers not to cache them, and don’t pass the link on to sites you visit from them.
How long a report lasts
30 days after the first check, or after its last recheck while you watch it. When it expires, the report and everything it stored are deleted.
You can delete a report sooner from the report itself. That can’t be undone.
We back the database up daily, so a deleted or expired report can remain in a backup for up to 6 more days. Then it’s gone.
What our logs keep
Your part
You’re responsible for how you use SEOLize: the pages you check, the report links you share, and keeping your password to yourself. Anyone with a report link can see the report.
It’s a demo, so there are no guarantees: it may be wrong, go down, or lose data, and we’re not liable for what happens when you rely on it. If that’s not acceptable, don’t use it.
If you run a site we checked
SEOLize fetches a page only when someone asks for it, identifies itself, and obeys robots.txt. The SEOLizeBot page says how to block it.
